What others have said about Paul Boruff in concert

"Mr. Boruff is more than an accomplished singer and instrumentalist; he brings to the stage a warmth and charisma and his expansive repertoire encompasses a wide range of styles, transcending the barriers of age and cultural differences.  Whether it be an original interpretation of an old standard or a tune of his own creation, Paul sings from the heart and plays with a technical virtuosity second to none."

–Janet Zimmerman, chair - Ennis Arts Association, Pony MT

"The comments we received on our evaluation forms for your program on mountain men in American history were all very favorable. Several people came up to me afterwards and told me your presentation was excellent.  One lady said that it motivated her to return to teaching history again."

–Barbara Nobriga, California Media and Library Education Association, Burlingame CA

"Paul Boruff has spent the last 30 years as a touring singer/musician/composer.  His venues have ranged from nightclubs to "mountain man rendezvous," from exclusive resorts to county fairs, and to stages where he has performed his original music Trappers.  Boruff is as at home with popular classics and folk music, as he is with his own compositions, collections of which can be found on his many recordings.  I hired him to do the original music and act as musical director for my production of Caryl Churchill's Vinegar Tom, intended for an East European theatre festival.  As a composer, singer, on stage personality Paul Boruff has no peer at the price."

- Richard Scharine, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Theatre, University of Utah, Salt Lake City UT

"I just returned from a vacation at Wyoming's Grand Teton Rocky Mountain Range and feel I heard a performer who really qualifies as one of ‘Woody's Children'. . . .Dressed in authentic trapper costume, Paul simulates a mountain man who returns from trapping beaver in the Tetons and is regaling his 1840 St. Louis audience with trapper tall tales and songs.  The songs are a combination of his own and original folk music possibly sung by the trappers.  In his show, we learn, for example, that many of the trapper songs have a sea chanty beat.  When I asked Paul why, he told me that many trappers were originally whalers or New England fisherman.  The show, in many ways similar to Hal Holbrook's ‘Mark Twain,' is based on Paul's continuous historic research to learn everything he can about the trappers."

–Letter from Jason Berger to Robert Sherman of WQXR AM/FM, host of "Woody's Children" radio program, New York NY
